Hello friends,
I have been an Eagle Scout since the year 2000, but no longer! After hearing about the recent decision to exclude the LGBT community from the Boy Scouts I have decided to request to be removed from the rank of Eagle Scout. I sent them a scathing letter which I shall post here.

Yes, I realize there are typos, but I didn’t feel as though their institution deserved enough respect for an edit and I wanted them to feel how angry I was. I think typos are a decent reflection of the passion and haste that go into a good rant. Here is the letter:
To Bob Mazzuca, Wayne Brock and the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America,
While many of my fellow Eagle Scouts have responded by returning their badges and commenting on the nastiness of BSA’s recent decision to refuse openly gay humans to participate in their organization, referring to your own teachings of acceptance in order to shame you all for what you have done, I however do not feel that any amount of cordial or couth behavior is due. I will not return my badge, it will serve as a reminder to myself and others what I have done. Holding my tongue is the shameful thing to do.
You say it took you 3 years to ‘consider that facts’ to come to your conclusion. What a crock of shit. If you had any morals beyond your greedy, fat , white-man intentions of militarizing our countries (and other’s) children, you would post your findings, all the evidence you have to support your decision and stand by it, not lie, slander, and hide behind weak sound bites. I am ASHAMED for ever participating in such hypocrisy. The only defense you have is not of your own, but the common good people that participate in your organizations locally. You, in a way, represent them, NOT the opposite and it therefore not your part to comment on people’s sexuality, but you had the big swinging balls to do it anyway, you fucking bigots. It is for them I feel sorry for writing these things, they are unknowingly participating in a bigoted order. The men and women that use their religion to keep down others are the worst manifestations of human mental illness, manipulation, and megalomania in the human psyche.
Remove me from your lists of Eagle Scouts. You have branded me with a term that is synonymous with bigotry and I want it gone. None of my children will ever participate in your organization again and I will vocalize my discomfort with your bigoted, exclusive society whenever the conversation rears it’s ugly head. It matters not how scared or uneducated you are, bigotry of this magnitude is unacceptable in organizations with so much power and clout. You all have turned from whatever god you think you worship to your own self delusions and fear. Shame on all of you, you are shitty, shitty people and I am glad to be the person telling you in such plain terms, you fucking bigots. Take me off your list, now.
